We moved into a very old rental and there is no water line for the fridge. Fortunately, our washing machine had to be moved to the basement, and the washer/dryer opening is perfect for our large french door fridge to fit, with hot and cold water spigots right in the wall.
What do I need and how do I connect the standard washing machine cold water spigot to the refrigerator line so that we have filtered water and a working ice maker? We are in the country and have a Lowe’s and Wal-Mart in town.

I just bought a house with a relatively new stainless frigidaire refrigerator. I noticed the water flow from the dispenser was pretty slow, so I replaced the filter with a new one. Now there is no flow from the dispenser and water is leaking from the filter housing. I put some teflon tape on the threads of the filter housing, but there is still no water flow from the dispenser. I tried putting the old filter back in and there still isn’t any flow. Anyone know whats going on and how I can fix it? (And yes, I’m sure I’m using the correct filter.)

I have a GE Profile Performance refrigerator with a built in water filtration system and ice maker. I’ve had this refrigerator for years. All of a sudden, the ice and water tastes like metal and smells moldy. I have replaced the filter twice and no luck.

It usually works but every now and then the water tastes like it is straight out of the faucet and I have to take the catridge out and slam it back in and then it will taste filtered again. This happens all the time and it gets annoying. Problem with the fridge or faulty catridge? This new filter’s only 2 months old by the way. Thanks.

My Kenmore Cold-spot is 10 yrs old. Water is not getting to the lines. I can hear the ice maker trying to drop ice, but there is no sound from the water dispenser when I depress the front. It’s older so I don’t think I have a filter, any suggestions?
I’ve checked the cut off switch and that works fine.
Plus, It is hooked up to my RO, so it gets good water. If it is the silonoid, where is it and can I replace it myself?

i’ve been drinking like 6 glasses of water everyday. This water usually comes from my refrigerator most of the time. I’m pretty sure it has a filter system. I don’t feel like spending money on bottled water anymore. Is this safe to do 6 times a day everyday?? or should i just start buying bottled water again? which one is healthier?

It has a removable catridge that is replaced every 6 months, no screwing, it just slides and snaps in on its own. This new catridge has been in for about a month or two and suddenly last night the water tasted like nasty chlorinated faucet water. I had more water the next morning and it still tasted awful. So I took the catridge out and put it back in, ran water through then tried another glass and it tasted beautiful. What happened and why? Will it do this again? Please help!

I have a Kenmore side-by-side refrigerator. It has a water and ice dispenser in the door. The water still dipenses, however there is no ice being made. Also, there appears to be some floaties coming out in my water. I regularly change the filter (every six months).
Additionally, it used to work. It just one day stopped making ice. It is about 2 1/2 years old.
Moreover, the wire to tell the icemaker to make is down meaning it is on.

I decided to replace my water filter feeding my icemaker. It has a plastic water line. I can see gunk in the line before & after the filter — enough that I’m not going to use the icemaker until the lines are replaced.
My problem: I can replace the plastic lines leading up to the refrigerator, but how do I flush/santize the rest of the system (inside the fridge)? Anyone ever done this before?

My KitchenAid refrigerator has very slow running water, how do I fix it? I tried to test the flow from the cold water and that was fine. Someone told me it might be the water inlet valve – anyone know where I could buy this? I have tried replacing the filter but that did nothing.
My refrigerator is a KitchenAid model # ksrl25FTSS00.
Additionally, I am currently using a plastic tube and this is what the refrigerator also has throughout (internally).
I’m hoping that someone can point me in the right direction without have to call a repairman.

I just got a free refrigerator from the inlaws that was sitting in the garage.
And I know its gross, but some mice chewed on the water hose going to the refrigerator.
It was never hooked up to a water line while it was in there but I don’t feel comfortable just buying a new hose and filter and letting the water drain out for a couple minutes.
If there is some sanitizing method you can share with me then great! Think I should get a technician? Do I need one?

Our water that comes out of the refrigerator smells and tastes bad. It, obviously, also makes our ice produced by the ice maker taste bad. There is also things floating in it. We have changed the filter. The other day we emptied the water line coming from the house to the fridge and the first cup full of water was rancid and yellow. After that it seemed to clear up some, but now it is back to smelling. Our normal house water tastes fine. What could be the problem and how do we correct it?

My Frigidaire side by side is continuously dripping from the water dispenser. It’s like one drop every 5 minutes. After searching and asking about this, I replaced the dual valve, but it did not help. There looks to be a single valve back there too, is that the problem maybe? What do all these valves do? The problem first started after I replaced the water filter, so it could be something else altogether too.

I have about a year that I installed an Reverse Osmosis system at my kitchen sink and connected my refrigerators water supply to my RO system. However, I wonder if I am just wasting my money continueing to replace the refrigerator filter. Can I just install a bypass valve or something, so that There is no need to continue replacing RO filters as well as refrigerator filters?
