It is purified water in a Brita filter from our kitchen tap and is in the refrigerator. I have been drinking it for years. I just tasted an after taste this morning. Nobody else has noticed it. Should I be worried?

I am trying to change the water filter in the Kitchenaid two door fridge. I am not able to get the old cartridge out. I turned off the icemaker as per instructions and tried to turn the cartridge anti-clockwise, but it does not move or turn.

I buy bottled water because our water is said to have too much calcium. I do have filtered water in my refrigerator door but I still buy bottled water. My favorite is "Smartwater, by Glaceau". Do you have a favorite?

The 1st refrigerator was all frosty like snow in the back when you unscrewed it. We ended up replacing it with another refrigerator that we knew worked. Now it seems like this one isn’t getting cold. I replaced the water filter, but about it. What the heck is wrong. Help

I have city water that tastes really bad. But my new refrigerator has a really good filter and the water tastes really good. Would the water coming out of the filter be considered the same quality as the water gallon you buy from the store?

The washer is a front loader, Kenmore, about 7 years old, and the dryer is the same age. The refrigerator is a Kenmore, side by side, with the ice maker, filter water, etc. I have no idea what I should ask for these items. The refrigerator is also 7 years old. All the items are in excellent condition. Any ideas, on how much, I should ask for all three items? I have no idea what I paid for these items, new. Let me know what you think?

We aren’t supposed to re-use water bottles because of bacteria; a dishwasher would remedy that. However, if I re-fill the bottle with filtered water and store it in the refrigerator, is it unsafe? Do chemicals actually leach into the water from the plastic more than they would if the bottle were brand new? I have read that Nalgene is now considered unsafe as well, for the same leaching reason.

A had a minor water leak from the refrigerator’s water filter system. Water dripped and spilled on some of the extension wires and surge protectors. Some, but not a lot of water spilled into it (it wasn’t submerged). Should I just wait for everything to dry, unplug it, and replace anything that came into contact with water? Or can I use it after waiting for them to dry? I wish they had taught us these things in school. Does anyone have any good links for understanding household electricity and water? Thank you.

Two months ago my refrigertor suddenly stopped dispensing water. My refrigerator has a triple solenoid water valve and the tube going to the water dispenser was the only one without water. In other words both the filter and ice maker got water ok. I replaced the water valve and the dispenser worked immediately and was fine until this morning when it just stopped again. Again both the filter and ice maker are fine. Just the water dispenser doesn’t have any water in the tube. It seems odd that I’d have the same section of another water valve go bad so soon. What could be causing the water dispenser solenoid to keep breaking?

How do I properly filter water? I live in NYC. Supposedly the state of New York, or NYC has one of the cleanest water in the country. I basically boil the water from the sink and then let it cool before I leave it in the refrigerator. Any tips I can better improve the taste or filtration of my water? I have a little weird water taste while drinking it, but it taste like water foundain. I read water in bottles, they add some chemical to remove that iron type taste. I just want to make sure I am drinking healthy and clean water. I do not want to buy those filter thingy to filter my water because I would have to keep replacing it. ANY TIPS? THANKS!

I have detected that when I run the in-door water dispenser on my fridge, the line leading up to the ice tray pumps out just a small bit of water. This water freezes in the larger tube that runs into the actual ice-maker tray. What part do I need to replace that will stop this flow of water from occurring. It never drips, only when dispensing water from the in-door dispenser. I have confirmed this. My fridge is a side by side. It has a line going into a water filter in the fridge, then a line running to the water dispenser and another to the ice maker. Obviously there are some solenoids throughout this as well. Please help.
It is a Maytag 2001 side by side fridge. Model number: MZD2766GE.

I’m moving into a subsidized apartment and problem is that there aren’t any water filters there not even on the refrigerator.
So do I actually need to buy them from the store?
